The Atlantic published an “In Focus with Alan Taylor” photo essay in honor of Autism Awareness Month on April 1.

One of my favorite photos, by mother and photographer Nancy Price, depicts a sleeping toddler next to a line of toy animals arranged in a non-random sequence.   What his parents thought was a funny quirk (arranging his toys) was actually a clear sign their son had autism.
